"Idea Generation Gallery brought together the world’s most prolific monster illustrators to create an exhibition of over 100 monster images, charting the development of monster drawings from the deepest, darkest depths of an artist’s imagination, on to the sketchpad and finishing on the gallery wall. Bringing together a new commission of Pete Fowler’s surreal and psychedelic Monsterism Island, the world-first display of Rob Steen’s visceral Flanimals with new works from nine illustrators of the Central Illustration Agency, the exhibition looked into the stories behind monster creation. Incorporating the Moshi Monsters Den, the Monsters Inked Children’s Programme ran alongside the exhibition and encouraged school groups and local children to take inspiration from the exhibtion and take part in a series of artist-led workshops.
